Dear Members,

Our club constitution states that our club AGM should be held by the end of June each year or no more than a maximum of 15 months between such events. It also states that notification of this will be posted at the club for a minimum of a period of fourteen clear days immediately preceding the day upon which the meeting is to be held. Obviously with the devastating worldwide virus that’s hit mankind the social gathering and isolation restrictions currently in place are quite likely to make this an impossibility. We have therefore made this very early decision to postpone this year’s AGM until September. This may well be a premature decision and I hope it is and we are coming out of these restrictions well before this time but once through this I believe we will all have a lot of catching up to do before we get back to some sort of normality. During this extended period between AGMs all those committee members, officers and officials at Abbey are asked to please carry on in post for a further 3 months or until we can hold this annual club Meeting.  As a club with many members our priority concern at this time is the health and safety of you all, so thank you all for your understanding, cooperation and common sense in keeping away from the club whilst we are in lockdown.

Stay safe and look forward to seeing you all again soon

Regards

Kevin Gingell
