It is with great sadness that after several years of increasing health issues we advise on the passing of Ian Scott.

Prior to joining Abbey Ian played for Exeter, his home city and St Luke’s College where he undertook his teacher training. He enjoyed a successful teaching career and for a number of years prior to retirement was Deputy Head at Forest School, Wokingham.

Ian was a club stalwart ‘back in the day’, both on and off the pitch. Not only did he Captain our 1st team for 4 seasons (1977/80 & 1982/83 ) one of the most successful periods in our playing history, but he was also an enthusiastic leader in regard to our many & various clubhouse socialising activities !

Ian made a huge contribution to the club over many years as a player, coach and socially and he will be sorely missed.

We offer every sympathy to Mary, Ian’s wife and to John, his brother and their wider family and friends.

R.I.P old friend.
