Abbey RFC Women are on the hunt for a passionate and experienced Head Coach to drive our ambitious squad forward. As one of the leading women’s rugby teams in the region, we are committed to excellence, continued development, and fostering a competitive yet supportive environment at both 1XV (Performance) and 2XV (Development) level.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ A fun, positive and motivated head coach, ideally with experience of coaching women’s rugby, although this is not essential.
✅ Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop players of all levels.
✅ A commitment to creating an inclusive and high-performance culture.
✅ England Rugby Coaching Award essential, with ambition to work towards the England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award.
✅ A passion for player progression, women’s rugby development and teamwork.
Your Role:
🔹 Plan, lead and deliver two high-quality training sessions per week, and lead on match days on Sundays.
🔹 Oversee and manage the full coaching team of assistant coaches and skills coaches.
🔹 Develop individual and team skills for our 1XV to compete in Championship 2, and for our 2XV to compete in the Inner Warrior Series.
🔹 Foster a positive, inclusive, hardworking and accountable team culture.
🔹 Lead on video analysis of matches through the use of Veo software.
🔹 Work closely with the Women and Girls Chairperson to grow the women’s game at Abbey RFC as part of a three-year development plan, including recruitment and retention objectives, and a player pathway from our thriving Junior Girls section.
