What a great first week it was as we returned from lockdown.  First up were the Women's team on the Monday evening and with 45 players turning up I was amazed by the levels of enthusiasm, skill and commitment on show.  I was also impressed by the Coaching staff who did a fantastic job.
Next up on the Tuesday were the men's team and again the levels of effort and enthusiasm on display were excellent.  The Coaching was first class and it was just great to see the players returning to action.
On Wednesday the Women turned up in even greater numbers for another great session and on Thursday we kicked off the men's touch tournament which was a great success and showcased some great skill levels.
On Sunday it was the turn of the minis and juniors and it was wonderful to see so many in attendance, including many parents.  The organisation and coaching was great to see and it is clear that the Club has a bright future as many of these boys and girls will no doubt go onto greater things.
On a personal note I am delighted to announce that Allan Greene has agreed to join us as first team forwards Coach.  Alan brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a Coach and I know he will bring a level of professionalism that we can all learn from.
Finally I was pleased to read an article written by Irish and British Lions legend Ronan O'Gara who is building a real reputation as a Coach.  He was sharing his Coaching philosophy which is all about "keeping the ball alive" and players "finding space" rather than contact.  It is a philosophy I believe in and something I hope we can aspire to ourselves.
